Questions audiophile Macbook Pro setup

Thread Starter

Hi, everyone

Thanks to the people in my first thread, I managed to salvage only the amplifier part of the Nuforce Icon HDP DAC/Amp. So currently, I have an AUX cable that connects the Macbook Pro Retina and the HDP.

I'm planning to buy the Audioquest Dragonfly V 1.2 so I don't have to use the DAC that's inside my Macbook.

The Dragonfly DAC connects to the Macbook with a USB, and then the Dragonfly DAC connects to my HDP amp through the AUX cable.

My question is, will the AUX cable do a well enough job of connecting the DAC and the HDP amp? The Dragonfly DAC only has a 3.5mm jack.

My AUX cable is just an average priced one.

Sorry if this question already came up.

Oppps...when I had the hdp, I used it as a dac...the amp section was bright n congested I felt.

Anyway, u should be able to get a cable from nuforce

Will these cables make a difference in overall quality of the sound?

If you don't mind, could you be more elaborate on the differences in the cables performance-wise?
