Would love to hear your opinion about high end wireless headphones for music

Hello,

I'm new to your site and would like your opinion about wireless headphones.

I live in Israel where any audio equipment even very hi end is available but anything imported is twice the American price because of taxes.

For that reason I settled a few years back for Sennheiser HD 380 pro.

Right off it seemed that the quality was not so great and looking online I would need a headphone amp so  i got an Asus Xonar7u.

What drives me crazy is the  chord attached. Have a long extension chord to walk around my room it seems that here at the asylum people trip over it all the time (joke, joke!)

I've been looking online for a few years at wireless headphones but in the past thought the quality not good enough. Some people seem to say that there are very good high end wireless headphones for audio, for music especially a few made by Sennheiser.    What do you think about wireless headphones today? I don't mean the kind a person would use to watch tv in bed but serious headphones  for great music listening?  Obviously would cost more than wired, but for myself only if there are great  ones would I do so.  Are there made today  wireless headphones  of hifi great quality?  Do you think that in the future (lets say 2 years from now)  there will be headphones wireless worthy of the name and maybe it is the future for audio?    Thanks

I would certainly like it to be the future of audio, but I doubt it. Wires provide too much of a boost in performance over a lack of them for it to be worth it, and I doubt it would be 10 or less years before that changed.

The few wireless headphones that I really liked or had no complaints about we're the Sennheiser models and the UE9000.
