need help purchasing cans!

]So I'm new to this whole headphone scene I've only owned cheap in ear and on ear headphones. Looking to upgrade to something nice preferably in the $100 range. I tried on the Sony mdr-x10 today and loved the sound and bass but wasn't crazy about the swivel ears. I've also been looking at the JVC ha-mr77x and the sennheiserhd439. Looking for a pair that has good bass and doesn't drown out the highs and meds. Any help would be greatly appreciated seeing how I basically have no knowledge and all the research ive been doing is pretty overwhelming!

If you liked the X10's then you must be a serious basshead. They possibly have the most overpowering bass in any headphone.

Take a look at the SOL Master Tracks - they've been hovering around $100 recently. They sound more balanced than the X10's but still have strong bass.
