Hi, i listen from jazz to rock to edm genre. I am looking for a wide sound stage, deep bass, not bright and smooth music signature and easy to drive. If anyone who happen to own lz-a4 iem, i am looking for a headphone with sound similar to black front and red back filter sound sig. Please recommend me a grado that fit my criteria.

Thank you for your recommendation.

Ok, I got the 80e and 325e in today. I've been switching back and forth for about an hour or so. First off, I like the Grado sound. cool.gif It is definitely immediate and very detailed and not a giant soundstage. It really is as if you're sitting on stage with the musicians around you. I think my initial takeaway is that I'm more blown away by how good the 80e sounds versus how great the 325e is. The 80e is amazing for $100. And I can understand how some claim the 325e's are almost too bright. I'm really curious to see how the 225e's sound now. Also, I think I like the bowls more than the flats even though the flats are absolutely much more comfortable.

I'm wondering if the 225e's with the TTVJ flats pads might be my answer (until I can upgrade at some point to the RS1e).

This made me giggle ,  while comparing your SR-80e & SR-325e you are wondering about SR-225e , then to open a can of worms you are considering putting flats on them.   hehehehe
But maybe the deluxe flats may cater to your taste more than the original flats , wait a minute maybe you should try the flats on the SR-325e .
Just playing my friend ,  there is never an answer with Grado , only a terminal case of upgradeitus & modding for the rest of your life.

I had all three at my house for a week. I kept the 225e's and returned the other two. I sent the 80e's back first because if I kept them, I know I'd end up eventually wanting a higher model in the Prestige Series and then end up not using the 80e's. I chose the 225e's in the end because, for whatever reason, my ears started hurting after listening to the 325e's for a little while whereas they didn't with the 225e's. Additionally, I felt like the weight of the metal cups made the 325e's shift around in my head unless I kept perfectly still and straight up where I didn't get that at all with the 225e's. I feel like I definitely picked the perfect pair for me in that line and glad I was able to audition the three of them at home.

You'll be back for another go of them beautiful 325e ,  maybe not today nor tomorrow ,  but you'll be back.
I'm in a silly mood ,  good to know you are happy with your 225e.

I have read that after the initial release of the e-series, there was some concern over protruding drivers in the RS1e. Subsequently, it seems that Grado began to flush mount them.

My question is, did they also begin to flush mount the drivers in the other 50mm driver models? I am particularly interested in the GS1000e.

Mine may be an earlier GS1000e - black headband - but the drivers are not flush mount.

If someone does not come up with the answer I should be able to find out by later today or tomorrow.

In the meantime I do know that the GS2000e has flush mounted drivers. If it at all could fit your budget you should try to get a listen to both of them. All personal taste and opinion but I do feel the 2000e is well worth the extra money.

i do not know if the gs2000e is an upgrade tops1k-e. they earlier said no soon plans of ps2000e. knowing them i am sure it is coming. it is interesting that the old joe grados are still perhaps the best models in many peoples feelings. i guess it is like iphone vs. landline. some things are just classic. well, a better analogy is i and many others feel the hard disk ipod is way better than new ipods. overall though as of now my top pick of any phones is the original ps1k with brushed cups. sure, there are overall better phones like the he90 and sr009 but the ps1k just has the sound i love. the ps1ke is not quite the same. i feel if a ps2000e comes it will be a vast departure in the wrong direction for many. i say don't fix it if it is not broken. that is not to say some would not like the 225,325,rs1 better. this is very personal. like what kind of undies you like. i am a person that has steadfast preferences about almost everything. at least in audio there is no right or wrong.

Yeah, I have the 60e with L-Cush and I also owned (and sold) recently: sr325is, sr325e, MS2e, Magnum v7. 60e have more bass which I definitely miss going to all those others. Not too bright or fatiguing either.

I have Sr325e and I find them not that suitable for EDM. PS500 or GH1 are more modern sounding and fit equally well for all types of music. Although somehow I miss some Grado magic with them.

Neve heard one of the big Grados.

I'm interested to hear your answer.  I would have loved to get the GS2000e, but at the price that I bought my demo GS1000es, the 2000s would have cost me double.

How do you think the 2000es better the 1000es?

Here is what I found... higher numbers are better.
