Grado e Series - Page 20

Likewise. I really appreciate all of the early reviews of the e series.

Definitely looking forward to more detailed assessments in the next few weeks, esp of the 60 and 80.

This is exactly how rumours start - founded or unfounded - I think we should

get some more concrete facts before running with this particular description

I would definitely like to hear more impressions

They didn't change the driver size on the GS1k did they? Still uses the extra large earpads I hope? Curious why they went from an 8c cable to a 12c cable.

I'm not trying to start a rumor… I said I believe I read this in one of the threads.

I did try to find it after my post but couldn't find it in the "Grado e Series Thread", so it may be in either the "RS1 Appreciation Thread" or the "Grado Fan Club Thread". Whenever the "Grado e Series Thread" began, up until now is the approximate time it was posted.

As it sits now the "e" has better treble refinement, smaller sound stage, a touch less bass impact, better detail and better dynamics. This is going from memory though... so until I can arrange time to audition the RS1i with a local fellow take my opinion with a grain of salt.

notice the bold and underlined text?

I believe from the RS!i up....got the complete overhaul....and I think the allesandros got the upgrade......maybe the pro got the complete overhaul....I would think so.

^ rs2 and ps500 drivers also increased in size from 40mm to 44mm. not sure about the prestige series drivers tho.

Thank you.

Exactly what I thought. Same old driver with an outer plastic ring to make it a "new 50mm driver"....feh

That's exactly what I was thinking ...

Also, if you measure the diameter of any old Grado driver, and include the outer plastic edge (ie the whole driver 'capsule' and not just the diaphragm) it's 44mm ;)

I feel better that I am no longer the only person in this thread who saw those rs1e pictures and didn't automatically 100% believe those were 50mm drivers.
