With the driver raised out of the cup, how does the TTVJ Flats fit (the RS1e) now?

I would also like to get some impressions on how these RS1e drivers compare with Turbulent/Magnum X-Drivers

I'm pretty sure someone with the RS1i (which had)  the RS1e drivers had already commented on the sound comparing the two and said the (e) had less bass and a narrower sound-stage…but was smoother in the mids/highs?

Because when I read this, I was very surprised to hear that the bass/sound-stage was lighter/narrower. Due to the 50mm drivers, I would have figured it would have been the opposite.

and i thought, more bass, narrower staging, due to the driver being closer to the ear, like putting a flat pad on the rs1i

I'm thinking the same thing.  It seems odd to me that bringing the driver closer to the ear would improve anything and also makes me think with my limited audio experience that this would render the mahogany ear cups worthless.  I would think that to increase the enhansments of the cups you would want them further inserted.

By the way the are described there....I don't think I would want them.

I agree, if that impression is verified by others I won't be getting them.

The sound-stage on my PS500e are great. I tested the sound-stage with the virtual barber shop video and I was amazed it sounds like they are talking 10 feet away from you at times. I let other people test out the video with my PS500e and everybody was amazed. There are no complaints with my headphones.

In case anyone is interested....here are my thoughts on the new PS1000e's:

I would agree with this also.

True, I would think to get the full effect of the cups the driver would be inserted deeper…good point!

IME, when listening to people talking with headphones, the voices do sound much further away, much more than listening to music.

No worries. Now I'm really curious to hear the new RS1e. I've owned the RS1, RS1 buttonless and RS1i...curious to hear how these compare.

I will be looking forward to your impressions.

Nice hearing the new pS1000e has a soundstage comparable to the HD800, as I find that soundstage just incredible

I would still rank the HD800s sound staging ahead of the PS1000e's, but they have made up some ground definitely.
