Grado e Series - Page 17

burn-in debate's been done to death. sound science forum is the place for it - not here.

My 80i's have always been comfortable, one of the reasons I bought them. I think some folks over generalize about things. I tried them on, listened to select racks and plopped down my money. I'm intrigued by the e series, might give the 325's a whirl and give my 80's to my Dad.

Just got the SR60e yesterday in the mail.  Used to own the SR125i, but sold it some time back.  So far, I am really liking the 60e, good bass, not overly bright, soundstage may not be the widest ever, but it's got a good 3D sound to it.  I've been listening straight out of the dragonfly or through the asgard 2(low gain)/dragonfly combo.  Wish I had the 125i's still to compare, but regardless, I'm impressed.  I've enjoyed most everything I've played so far.

I tried the PS1000's and while they were plenty comfy to me, they were really floppy on my head. It was like wearing a carefully perched banana peel. A very comfy banana peel though.
(I have ears that are very small by western standards and quite a big head, so maybe that was the reason)

Great analogy PianoMan. I felt the same way about trying to perch the PS1K's on my head.

Thank you!

Exactly…this is not a debate.

I was just saying what I do with my new headphones to loosen the drivers, and recommending not to leave them continuously playing 24/7, it wasn't about the "facts" of burn-in.

sure - whatever works for you. the burn-in question gets raised all the time and seeing threads derailed by the same old arguments is tiresome when you've been here a while. but a noob probably wouldn't know that.

I'm unsure as to what the burn-in argument is...are one of you saying not to play the headphones for a long time and the other saying that it's ok to leave them playing for a long time?

Or is it an argument as to if burn in does anything to the sound or not?

It seems like the 60e is a slightly mellower version of the 60i based on this review.

Looking forward to any comparison of the 60e vs. 80e. That should decide it. smily_headphones1.gif

Correct, I'm here to enjoy this forum…not to debate!

It was a simple question of leaving them on 24/7 or not.

I should have my RS1e by this Tuesday if no one else has anything before then.

Dumb question, but will the L Cushion fit the SR80e?
