Grado e Series - Page 96

I am all balanced. that's why I kept the cable. also, ss is the way to go with grados. totally agree.

my genres are funk, bebop, progressive jazz etc. I would swear these were made in the 70's with that in mind. I mean yeah, they are good at metal and classical but they are the headphone for funk/modern jazz. it is just what I listen to that I grab them before the he90 and sr009. it's like they were made for that. wonder what grado ear tunes them with....

set for life! congrats. time to kick back, enjoy the music, no worries about "perfect sound" and no more constant upgrading!

but what about our amps and DACs? how can we be satisfied with our music unless we're trying out new upstream gear every two and a half months? ;)

Good question. A while back, there was a post indicating a particular artist that Grado uses to tune drivers. Can't remember. But I wouldn't be surprised if John uses the Beatles tracks to help tune drivers -- he's a fan of them (who isn't?). But let me get back to you on this with a more def answer. My gut hunch is a lot of acoustic music and guitar tracks.

LC, there comes a time when one understands that there is no such thing as "perfect, absolute sound", except maybe at a concert. For me, that moment arrived I don't remember when.....

remember the LAW OF DIMINISHING RETURNS.

but I encourage upgrading, as it stimulates the economy and keeps people employed.

I kept it and immediately put it on the ps1ke without even listening first. that was actually kind of dumb of me. for all I know the 12 wire is better than mine but I kind of doubt it. it is going to change how they sound one way or the other. with a couple of hours against thousands of hours it was already an improvement. not a huge improvement but I think exactly as grado planned. it is certainly the successor.

Hmmm....you never know...

I've always liked the Grado stock cables on my three. Only changed the plugs to balanced. Kept the rest of cables, as 8-conductors are plenty imo. My fear of Murphy's Law I guess.  Plus, Grado uses high-grade copper. Good enough for me.

Enjoy your PS1K!

I'm currently working through the read but can't search for RS1i because the search function brings up everything.

Has there been a consensus of how different and/or better the RS1e is to the RS1i? There are some good deals out there on on the RS1i now.

Ask me how I know, go ahead, ask me!

boy stacker, you're on a roll !! lol
