Thanks for the tip on tubes for WA6. Been using just the stocks.

What's more influential for SQ -- rectifier or power tubes? I'm not all that familiar with the ins and outs of tube amps. Thanks.

Advice: get an i if you can. Don't know about the "e" series, not convinced it will be better. Just an opinion.
According to Alessandro they implemented E changes and left the model names. Which I take to mean theb99 dollar MS1e, E drivers in a standard MS1 housing. The 109 MS1 2009 version, is the e driver in the MS1i housing, hence MS1ie.

Too complicated. Just enjoy the music, and forget the labels and genealogy!

So much music, so little time.....:confused_face(1):

In my limited experience the power and rectifier tubes work together to produce certain unique sound signatures in particular amps. Others here would have better knowledge on this subject than I.

Not a problem joseph. I'm adding music now instead of adding gear. I bought Diana Krall's CD "When I look in your eyes" today for $4.99. It's kinda sounding pretty good.

It is really great to see people just enjoying their music and not analyzing gear all the time.

I am doing the same and here are my 5 latest cd purchases

Pink Floyd - Animals remaster

Pink Floyd - The Division Bell - remaster

Joe Bonamassa - Different Shades Of Blue - pre ordered....out sept. 23

Stevie Ray Vaughan - Essentials - two cd remasters of performances from 1983-2002

Pink Floyd - Live - The Delicate Sound Of Thunder

Congratulations. I don't know how they are in the sound department, but it sure is a nice looking player. Do you plan on amping it?

My latest CD acquisitions:

- Best of Bonnie Raitt

- Holly Cole: Temptation
- Holly Cole: Don't Smoke In Bed
- Shelby Lynne: Revelation Road
- Madeleine Peyroux, Dreamland

- Mark Knopfler, Golden Heart

- Devin Townsend, Casualties of Cool

- Mozart, Kronungsmesse; Haydn, Missa In Tempore Belli/Levine, Berlin Phil
- Clara Haskil, Mozart Piano Concertos 13, 20, 23, 24, 27.

Also, one of my favs is a CD, "Train Wreck", by Sneakin' Out. The acoustics are astounding on full speakers; I use it to test and reconfirm my speakers' fidelity and positioning. http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/sneakinout

Enjoy!

You should be fine. I have a tiny little Cowon i9+ that sounds awesome with Grados at a little over 3/4 volume (30-32 out of a 40 max). That's with FLAC files. It's rated at 30 mW per channel with a 16 ohm load. As long as your Colorfly has enough oomph, your RS2i should sound great.

Nice list of some great music, especially the Haydn and Mozart pieces. How could it be any other way with a moniker like CanadianMaestro.

@CanadianMaestro: I was pleasantly surprised by the new Devin album! I'm not much for country music, but it was so well-written and interesting it was hard not to like it. Good call!

Gee, it's been a long since i last posted.

I had a Grado RS1 before but sold it quite awhile back.

I happened to chance upon a GS1000i for around 680 USD, considering i happen to love the RS1 sound when i had it, should i spring for that or just go for a new PS500E?
