Good amp for my setup

Hi, I'm looking for a good portable amp for my setup. Currently, I'm using an ak100 mk2 and Westone 4R's upgraded to 6 drivers and similar to Rooth LS6. I was wondering if anyone has experience with a good synergistic amp for that setup. It's not that it doesn't sound great on its own, I was just wondering about what amps work well with it so I can narrow down my search. Thanks for your time and replies!

I've tried (demoed) my ATH-A900X and JVC HA-S500 plugged directly into the AK100 & AK120, thought the A&Ks drove my headphones just fine.

But if you wanted to add an amplifier, maybe get the FiiO E11.

Might try contacting A&K directly, see what ideas they might have.

With a six driver IEM with a great DAP you might want to consider getting a balanced amp like the RSA Lightning or SR-71B. You are correct, you do not need the power but the increase in clarity, PRaT and soundstage a good balanced amp can add would be the final piece of an excellent portable rig.

Ok, so I'll look into getting a balanced amp then and appropriate cables. What do you think of ALO Audio's amps? Would those be just as good since it might be kind of hard to get RSA stuff where I am. Thank you!

It's not so much the power I think as the improvement on the sound a better amp provides. I do have an e11 but I find it kind of noisy with the iems. Thanks!

The problem with ALO amps with an IEM is some of them have higher noise floor and you may hear a hiss. I demoed the Rx Mk3 B+ before I bought my RSA Lightning and while it is a great amp there was a noticeable hiss with IEMs.

Hmmm, I see. That will definitely be a problem. Ok, I'll go see what I can do about demoing both before I make a decision. For now i'll just use my e17 while I do more research. I'll definitely look into RSA amps. Thank you for being really helpful!
