PC Setup for Music Production, and Gaming

Thread Starter

I'm getting a new rig and have decided I need better sound. After research I've come to the conclusion I will get the Sound Blaster Z and a decent pair of headphones I'm thinking http://www.amazon.com/AKG-High-Definition-Headphones-Discontinued-Manufacturer/dp/B0028N78J8/ref=sr_1_cc_1?s=aps&ie=UTF8&qid=1402192850&sr=1-1-catcorr&keywords=akg+k242

Is this a good route to go? I'm open to suggestions for different headphones, should I also buy an amp?

I own the AKG K242HD headphones, fairly good headphones, but you might find something better in it's price range.

Like a used AKG K612 Pro or Beyer DT880 Pro.
