Please help in getting a vocal centric headphone

Greeting to all Head-Fi members,

I have just started venturing into Head-Fi half a year ago and recently acquired Musical Fidelity V-PSU II + V90-DAC + V90-HPA as my desktop system for my listening pleasure. I am currently using a Panasonic RP-HTX7 headphone and looking forward to upgrade this to a better headphone. My listening preferences are mostly centered around vocal, jazz and easy listening music.

As I have not much chance listening to other headphones, I would like your kind recommendation for a vocal centric type of headphone.

Thank you.

The AKG K712 Pro is one of the best vocal headphones I have heard especially for the price and it fits your genres well.

Thank you so much for your suggestion. I need to find a chance to try this K712 Pro with my amp's set up.

The Q701 is another option although not as clear sounding and extended in the bass as the K712 Pro, the Q701 does quite well and is much cheaper.

Consider the Sennheiser HD 600, HD 650, and Audio Technica AD900X along with those AKG suggestions.

u hv a budget to work within?  u need isolation from a noisy environment?

B&O H6 , Final Audio Hope VI...for closed cans...

HD650 for open cans...

ESW9, Bowers P5 for portable On Ear cans...

=======

I (personal view) would stay away from AKGs for vocals, better to listen to a pair b4 u hit the buy button.

..or if it has a return policy.

Thank you all very much for the suggestions. My preference would be very much on open cans. I have recently tried Sennheiser HD600 with my set up, it has a truly amazing vocal reproduction. I am totally in love with HD600.

Haha, nice. I was intending to get that so I'd have an open, vocal headphone. :)

Cool, I hope you would get it soon, hehe. HD600 is in my 'must get' headphones list.

Suppose you'd better update your headphone list. ;)
