MMx300's right ear gone dead need ideas!

Hey,

First post here sadly it's because my mmx300s which I purchased on April 4 stop playing sound in the right ear today while I was having my coffee before work.  Need a little info.

I think it's a short in the cable, I'm able to get it to work if I play with the cable a little in a certain spot, I having it working with the cable looped and held there with a twist tie holding it. But now the mic no longer works.

I almost certain it's a short in the cable but I don't want to take it apart and take a multimeter to it and void my warranty.

This is really sad the headset is 2 months old has barley broken in( I'd say I've got maybe 200 hours in with them) and was well taken care of. Is this a common thing with 400 dollar headphones? Or am I just unlucky?

Has anyone had any dealing with the NA Beyerdynamic warranty and repair service?

Will this be taken care of under warranty or will it cost me to have the cable fixed?

Whats the turn around time like, this is the only headset I have and I'm going to be lost without it.

Thanks!

I can only advise on their service in the UK as Beyerdynamic use a distributor here which is likely different in the US.

You can contact them - http://north-america.beyerdynamic.com/service/repairs.html

At least in the UK the policy is to repair and turn around time may average a week, door to door. Mind you the UK service place is about 15 miles away from where we are!

I'm confident that yours will be under warranty, but try the outlet you bought from first - they should take care of this for you.
