Anything Better than the HD 558 in the price range?

I'm considering picking up a pair of HD 558.  They go for $120 ish on amazon new and $90 ish used.  Not sure if it's worth buying used?   Anyway I listen to pretty much every genre but mostly 2/3 rock and metal and 1/3 hip hop with the occasional country and classical thrown in.    Anything better in the price range I should consider?  Also I would like to use them unamped for when listening to podcasts on my sansa clip or when charging my fiio e6.

Are you looking for an open-back headphone specifically?

Here is a replacement cable ($20) that comes with a 3.5mm jack,  for use with the HD558.

Might as well buy a used HD558 and then remove the black rubber tape from inside the cups, for better audio quality.

I do think the HD558s are a good value.

I'm open to anything as long as it sounds good no pun intended.  It would be nice if it had some isolation but, I do have like 3 pairs of iems and I am rarely in a situation where I would bother someone by listening to my music too loudly.  Edit also doesn't the 558 come with a 3.5mm adapter?   If so what's the real point in replacing the cable?   Last question is it worth buying used or refurbished?  I see I can get them for $80+6 shipping on amazon.  For saving about $35 that's about halfway to a fiio e11 amp which is supposed to be an upgrade from the e6 I have?  Ok it's in my cart and plan on buying it before someone else does.   I can get it for $80 used.  Is it worth buying it used to save $40.  How reliable are these?

I've bought used headphones from Amazon and they have arrived in great condition but they were directly from Amazon not a second party,

Senn HD558 does come with a 1/4" female to 1/8" male adapter, but it's a little bulky to use with portable audio.

You can try the Senn adapter for now, you could always buy the replacement cable in the future.
