Nuforce uDac-3 a downgrade to Titanium HD Soundcard?

I don't use my soundcard for anything other than the DAC, most of my cans seem to have pretty low power requirements. (ATH AD700x, V-Moda M100) and am planning to get Sennheiser HD 380 Pro's soon.

I swap between my headphones frequently, and am planning to move to a smaller computer case soon and won't have room for my titanium HD sound card. Is something like the Nuforce uDac-3 worth it? will the sound be comparable? I use none of the extra "gaming" features of the sound card like the crystalizer or eax effects. Just looking for dac/amp combo to power my cans.

I'm not sure what is inside the Nuforce uDac-3, but I would "guess" the Titanium-HD would provide better audio quality, not sure by how much.

But I would guess the uDac-3 would do a good enough job.

Are there any other sub $200 dac/amp combos I should look at aside from the uDac?

A used Schiit Modi DAC/Magni amp combo might be with in your budget.

Right, thats what my friend suggested too. Is the amp inside something like this nu dac 3 or audioengine d1 not really worth mentioning? I think all my headphones are pretty easy to drive.. V-Moda M100's, ATH AD700s and I'm currently decideding between ATH A900x or Sennheiser HD 380 Pro

I like my ATH-A900X (closed) headphones, good music headphones, work fine for movies too.

You really do not need much of an amplifier for driving your current headphones.

Whatever DAC you get, get one with a S/PDIF optical input, optical can work with sound cards, USB bypasses sound cards.

Yeah as far as cans go I need something I can wear for 3-4 hours comfortably daily. AD700's I can, but its pretty noisy where I live and I can't deal with ambient noise anymore. Vmoda m100's are my portables and not comfortable enough for extended usage.
