Can I / Should I get new (better?) Neckband headphones?

Thread Starter

I got very nice headphones for my PC last year (HiFiMan HE-500s) , and I now know what I'm not hearing the rest of the time, when I am using my Sony MDR-G45LP headphones...

They are not very nice, but I really like neckband headphones and intend to continue using (neckband) them, however there is little selection and few reviews in that area. What seems best replacement  to me are Sennheiser PMX95 headphones...

So, is the extra $50 going to make a real difference? is it worth it? Next if I can't have better sound, how about wireless? For $80 I could get Rocketfish RF-MAB2 headphones...

Bluetooth seems a mess, but would they sound worse then what I have?

Would they possibly be a bit better?

All I really want to know is, can I "really upgrade" within neck bands? And, is it worth it?

Would love your help,

Thanks in advance :)

Unless I'm mistaken, iGrado uses the same drivers as the sr60, which is a highly regarded headphone that is commonly recommended. A friend of mine uses it and seems to enjoy it quite a bit. Is the reason you like neckband because it doesn't go in your ear and has no headband? If that's the reason, earclips are also a possible route.
