Setup for speakers and a pair of headphones? + Picking Gaming Headphones - Page 2

So you have two outputs now?

As long as you can return the M50s for a refund, it will be fine. If not, they still work really well, especially since they started at $300-400.

Two outputs are functioning. I'll have to toy around with the Realtek and try and get get it so that when I plug headphones in the speakers are muted.

The m50s are gonna be sent back tomorrow. Depending on how my new speaker set sounds I'll decide if I'll get on-ears like the v-moda xs or some over-ears first depending if I can get a summer job and/or if I can find a less expensive option.

Now looking at the Beyerdynamic Custom One Pros. Their build looks good and some people say they're good for gaming, but I need a second set of eyes before I drop $200 on these. I looked at Mad Lust envy's thread and read a bunch of reviews, but the only headphones that are available in Canada (after a few hours of looking at that thread) under $200 are the AD-700x, and I plan on listening to some dubstep on my headphones, which these (apparently) are not ideal for.

I also wonder how the HyperX cloud headset stacks up to the COPs and other headphones, because if I can keep $100 to myself I'd do it in an instant.

They are discontinued and might be hard to find, but the Creative Aurvana Live! (1st one only, second one is out and almost as good) scores well on MadLustEnvy's review and works well with heavy dubstep (at least the denon d1001 did for me, and was basically the same).

The realtek worked for awhile, but it ended out becoming very glitchy. So, I splurged. My solution is as follows:

Audioengine D1

AKG Q701 & HyperX Cloud for gaming (hyperx cloud sounds remarkably similar to my m50s)

V-Moda XS for mobile use

Harman Kardon Soundsticks III for desktop and Audioengine A5+ for music (on bookshelf above my PC)

Also, the D1 switches output to headphones and mutes speakers when I plug headphones into the mini jack, which really makes me happy.

Glad you found a good setup.
