Sound card for a bigger soundstage and positional sounding (ATH-M50)

Thread Starter
I own my M50 for quite a while now and i think i can get more than what i get now from them.
I use them for 70% gaming (usually competitive CS:GO and so on) and 30% youtube and music but i care only for the gaming part, the youtube and music is fine for me as is( could be better i would like that but thats not the reason number 1 for a new sound card for me..).
The soundstage of the M50 is quite small and its hard to pinpoint enemies atm with the built in sound card so i would like to get a few commendations for good sound card for my needs and maybe softwares too.
I would like to sound card to be around 50$+- it can be a little higher but not much please..
Thanks a lot for any help! biggrin.gif

******* lazy ffs if someone can help just waste 20 seconds of your life to answer over 20 people has seen the post and yet not a comment..
By the way if someone if willing to answer then answer me that, if i am planning to buy a new computer and i can buy g1.sniper z87 motherboard should i buy it? Or take a cheaper motherboard and a soundcard, and another thing, if i will buy the g1 and i will still have something like50$ for a sound card do i need 1 for that amount of money or there will be no difference between that and the motherboard sound because a 50$ is not that good and because the audio on the g1 is better than a normal motherboard?

Unless the motherboard supports Creative's surround implementation or Dolby Headphone, I would go with a separate sound card. If you are not overclocking, the H and B series chipsets on Intel boards for 1150/1155 can work very well, and you'd have more money to put towards a soundcard.

2nd, the M50s soundstage is just small. If you can deal with open headphones and their lack of isolation, I'd get some Sennheiser HD558s. The difference will be significant in soundstage. Then see about getting a separate soundcard after that smily_headphones1.gif
