New Shure se215 or replace cable

I currently have a pair of shure se215 and I am currently on my third cable(including the stock one), as the metal wire that allows you to adjust the cable to wrap around your ear keeps on breaking.  On a side note, considering a decent cable cost around half the price of a new shure unit, would it be better to replace the cable or just but a whole new pair?  Also, any recommendations cable wise? Another option would be to make my own cable, if so, what would a good place to look for parts?

I personally would recommend looking at the new $60 offerings, which will sound better.

If you like the comfort of your 215 an prefer not to change, i suggest a westone mmcx cable and cut off some of the protruding rubber, or a fiio cable will be a cheap choice. There is a mic option for the westone cable which is a plus.
