Portable amp+dac for ipod classic 7th gen

Hi

I've been using my trusty old iphone 4 for a long while. I have a large music library ~160gb. Most of it is 320kps lame encoded mp3s, but i'm just starting to get into 24/48 recordings.

I'm thinking of buying an iPod Classic. I was hoping to pair this with my E17, but after doing some reading on here, I now realise the DAC is not compatible with Apple devices.

Can anyone recommend a good amp+DAC that is apple certified and has a neutral sound signature? I don't really want to be spending more than about £230

For portable use i use Westone 4R and M100.

If you can stretch your budget a wee bit, a Centrance M8 off classifieds?

I've had a look at the Centrance in Classifieds, but can't see any for sale. To be honest, I'd prefer something a bit smaller than that for portable use.

After doing some looking around, I've come across the PHA-1 and ADL X1. Anyone have any experience of these? What are the sound signatures, soundstage and performance like?
