HELP CHOOSING Circumaural Portable Headphones without Amp $100-$300!

Thread Starter

I am in a world where I do not belong. I want to get myself some headphones that are decent without an Amp and look somewhat good at the same time. I listen to almost solely rap/hip-hop.

An example of my general music would be: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=umf0jJSMXnQ.

I will NOT be using an amp on these headphones as they for use on public transit and school. Looks is a big deal with me and so is bass. I am not sure if I am a "basshead" as I have not owned many headphones/earbuds. Isolation and minimal leakage would be preferred.

Some Headphones I have thought about are Sony MDR-1r, Beyerdynamic DT 770 80 ohms, Logitech UE 6000, V-Moda m100 and Beyerdynamic COP.

I live in Vancouver Canada if that applies. I believe my ears may be on the bigger side, I use Logitech's G430 for gaming at the moment and these fit my ears nicely.

Nad viso hp50 (fun)
Donscorpio dolphin(fun... Should replace ue6000)
Take out the mdr1r and put on the yamaha pro 500 (fun)
M audio q40 (basshead amounts of bass like the dt770 pro 80s)
Audiotechnica ath m50 ( these can get bashed here a lot and overrated other places. The only review i really trust is at innerfidelity. These are pretty fun headphones. Less bass than q40 and dt770 pro 80. Not sure how it compares to dolphin though. Definetly consider these if you find them under $140)
