Thread Starter

monoandstereo.com reports on McIntosh's new MCH1000 headphones revealed at the Munich High End Show going on this week. The headphones had previously been shown at CES 2014.

NEW McIntosh MCH1000 headphones. McIntosh new headphone is a completely new product from the McIntosh. As company already developed a dedicated headphone amplifier, this will be a nice addition to the high quality intimate musical headphone listening high-end high performance system.

Using the Tesla driver system, this $2000 headphones is entering the upper echelon of dynamic headphones. They styled after a traditional McIntosh volume knob and they use the real Italian leather with recognised McIntosh blue colour stitching and cable cords. As standard with most upmarket headphones, the left and right headphone cable will be user replaceable and probably open for the custom cable offerings as with other high-performance headphones.

I recall that this headphone is being subcontracted and made by Beyerdynamic for McIntosh - its this thread

It looks like the design improved a bit over the older photos.

This looks like a T5P with slightly different cosmetics and removable cables (yeh). If it has about the same form factor and comfort as the T5P with a touch more weight in the bass, this may just be the ticket  for my portable setup.

The headband, gimbals, and ear pads all look like Beyers. I wonder what they're adding to justify the $2k price...
