Sub bass: kc06a

Mid bass: kc06a

Mids: kc06

Treble: kc06

As a personal preference I like my sound signature a bit bright and clear and the original kc06 sounds fantastic. The kc06a stock had more bass impact and bass was nice and controlled, tape modded kc06 did get a nice bass boost but sounded tad slower and darker. Bass on the modded kc06 sounded bit bloated in comparison to the kc06a. The bass being as powerful as it is on the kc06a bleeds a tad into the mids and treble was a touch hotter than the modded kc06.

Both sound great but I honestly listen to different music on each one stock and use different tips on them regularly but I stuck to the same ones when listening. Ran my dragonfly dac v1.0 to an cable splitter to a/b both without having to keep to keep plugging and uplugging. Also ran the cable splitter with my fiio x5 to how that sound with both for this a/b. Used the medium soft stock silicon ostry tips. (Usually use small heir tips on the kc06)

What kind of music do you listen to? Are the highs between the kc06 and kc06A the same? Lendmeurears lists them as, "KC06A high frequency tuning differs from the KC06." Thanks. I usually listen to jazz, acoustic, classical, natural timbres, vocal, sometimes rock

I was mostly listening to bassy music like edm and so on when I was comparing the two kc06 but I listen to a wide variety of genres overall. Highs on the kc06a are slightly different than the kc06, bit more peaky on the kc06a. For you I would say the kc06 would be the better choice, overall sound is darker with the kc06a as a result of the increase in bass and mids have become tad recessed.

Lol. Well, given how I've been finding all the other supposed higher end gear, it wouldn't be a bad.... Wait a minute! Are you trying to get me back for the Tenores?

You're in a KC06A thread....the answer will definitely be KC06A....lol....anyway to make you feel better, I own the GR07 Classic (not BE) & KC06 (without A) and I just ordered my KC06A from Lenndmeurears today out of curiosity. At this price, you can never go wrong....honestly.

So you'd side with the KC06A ?

I'm not, I haven't received mine yet....but....you might also want to check out the KC06 (flatter sounding than KC06A from what I've read) and the Zero Audio Tenore (I have 2) which has a little more sub bass but a little quality control issues too at the same time...but if you've got yourself a reference sounding pair then it's total eargasm....yes...no kidding here. My point is you can't go wrong with any of these IEMs....even the GR07BE at the current price point.

If you can handle peaky treble go for the GR07, if not, the KC06A would be a better option.
