I listened to my new pair of KC06A for a few hours today and I must say that I prefer the Sony MH1 over these.

I miss some kind of airiness and 3D sound. To be precise the sound coming from the KC06A appears to be very narrow and restricted while the Sony archives to create a surround sound. The Bass is really excellent and amazing while the mids are a little bit reserved. I can agree that the KC06A has a slight v-sig.

All in all I realized how much important a good sound stage creation is for my listening enjoyment and the KC06A leaves much to be desired in this regard. Sadly no equalizer and burning in is able to change this aspect.

edit: After further listening I see that the KC06A are producing an incredible thick sound and I am actually starting to enjoy them! My initial negative impression are gone for a bit. Don't trust on your 1st impression guys!

I use medium heat personally, 12 minutes each side.

Really brings out the mids. 😬

KC06 are definitely kind of flat in regarding to soundstage, no burn in will improve that

But they are nice and wide sounding :)
Reminds me of the GR07 a bit, except more smoother and warmer

Seriously should rename the thread to "Ostry KC06A, a pretty decent upgrade from the last generation, and an alright IEM in general, several complaints, but nothing huge"
