Need help choosing a pair of over-ear headphones, for glasses wearer

Hi there,

I'm looking to see if anyone has any recommendations for over-ear headphones for glasses wearers?

I currently am using Skullcandy 50/50 earbuds but am starting to get annoyed with how often they fall out. I'd really like to have over-ear headphones, but the problem is that the pressure of the band causes me to have a headache where my glasses arms are. So I usually can enjoy headphones for about 20 minutes before I have to take them off.

From my understanding closed can headphones require more head band pressure because of the seal they need to make. So with that in mind I'm thinking an open can design is best? Less pressure on my glasses/head, but open can leaves me concerned about too much noise leakage. I know some is going to happen, but I'm hoping not a lot. I'd hate to annoy my wife in the same room because I want to enjoy some music. Likewise, I'd hate to have external conversations or TV damper my listening experience.

That said, I mostly listen to electronic music these days, however every couple of months my mood changes and I can vary from rock to classical.

I'd say my budget is around $100, but I am a little flexible depending of recommendations. I had my eyes on the Grado Prestige Series SR80i, but have heard there is significant audio leak on them, which has me reluctant to pick them up.

Thank you for the help :)

Open cans all have a lot of leakage. You'll be able to hear your environment, and the people around you will be able to hear the music you are listening to. Best to go with closed cans if that's going to be a problem for you.

Was afraid of that. Are there any closed cans that don't have so much pressure on glasses?

Comfort is such a personal thing. So I'm not sure what I would recommend.

If you do decide to go with open, Grados have more complaint about comfort than other open headphones, particularly when it comes to people who wear glasses because of the pressure the cups put on the edges of one's ear against the glasses frames.

You could try the denon ah-d1100 or ah-d320, I often have problems with my glasses as well, but the denons rarely gave me comfort issues that I couldn't fix.
