Suggestions for a pair of earphones

Thread Starter

Greetings,

This is my first post on head-fi, and I was hoping I could acquire some assistance over a few different earbuds I've been reviewing over the past few days.

First off, I should mention that I listen to a fairly diverse range of music, mainly consisting of rock, classical music, DnB and metal (among many others, of course).

The price range that I was specifically looking for would be preferably less than $100 and obviously with a decent price:performance ratio.

The products that I found -- which seem to have fairly decent reviews -- are the following:

Brainwavz S1 / M1/ M5 (all had decent reviews on Amazon and a few other forums, however, I've never heard of this brand before)

Thinksound Ts02 (Amazon reviews led me to consider this as well)

As well as a variety of JVC and Sennheiser products that I have difficulty discerning.

I'm sincerely confused over what particular details to compare when purchasing headphones/earbuds and any advice whatsoever would be greatly accepted, alongside any other recommendations.

I appreciate and look forward to your response. I apologize for the probable idiocy of my post.  Thanks.

Rob

Welcome to Head-fi.

One of the products below $100 that's hot right now is Ostry KC06, which can be had for about $65 USD on eBay. Many of the seasoned members have been raving about them. I own a pair myself and they do offer excellent price to performance ratio. I'll give you a link to the thread so you research them. What I can tell you is they don't have super high levels of isolation (blocking outside noise) so keep that in mind while reading.  Thread: http://www.head-fi.org/t/706595/review-ostry-kc06

+1

Many of us are ordering headphones and IEMs from Penonaudio. Here are the Ostry's. Penon Audio is seller bestbargainsonline on Ebay, but you get free shipping direct from their website.
