Nope - check your files.  And what do you mean by "buggy".  Please be specific.

Wrong thread for this question. This is for custom themes.

Please ask here:

http://www.head-fi.org/t/762128/fiio-x5-firmware-2-50-download-and-discussion/75#post_11506400

And please be more specific.

In this thread, if i can ask this thing, what i really would LOVE would be a theme that is.. elegant and simple. I found all themes until now looking very eye candy, but most of them, ultimately are too flashy for me. i love sleek and elegand designs.

Vortex from asian invasion was interesting, but did not hit the spot exactly,

Solar from asian invasion was very nice, but still not exactly what i was looking for.

Elegance from asian invasion was also very nice, but still not in the spot i wanted.

Oxygen Gray from @AsianInvasion is the closest to perfection in my book, but it still would need little imrpovements and to be in FW 2.5.

I also liked very much modern material and modern simplicity from @TheoS53 .

I still hope that i theme like what i am searching for can be done by someone.

Also, @AsianInvasion, i remember you saying that there is more that you would be able to do if you could change font color, which is possible in 2.5.

The rest of the themes were interesting, some of them very beautifull and eye candy, but not something i can really use on a daily basis.

Also, please do not jump on me, i just expressed what i would like, i am not requesting anyone to do it, i want to say that i would use it, if anyone would fiind it within what they were already working on.

Grant

It would probably help the modders if you would be more specific about what you like and don't like about the themes. Unfortunately these qualifiers don't really give them an idea ....

Or skerry can unpack the fw and modify the themes to his liking. I've done that before. Paint.net is free and not to hard to use.

HUD was supposed to be dirt simple and clean. Think bright text on black BG but I fell in to my creative madness and ended up with some more eye candy!! lol.

Perhaps in the future I'll do a dirt simple one, but as @Brooko has said skerry, you are being very general with what you like.

Also, as @nmatheis has said you can do one that's perfect FOR YOU!! It really is simple once you get used to what does what (that's the hard part). You aren't shy with figuring out audio clipping and learning new things so I highly recommend you give it a shot. It's very satisfying to use your own creation.

I've done my themes because they are what I like. In the end I share with everyone else. If it doesn't tick everyone's boxes that's cool with me. I like to share but you don't have to if you don't want to. Give it a shot man!!

My previous post was very subtle for showing what is possible with the EQ bg. By mapping the sliders and baking them in to the fast picking bg I've created an EQ bg that is pixel perfect (FiiO implementation is off by a couple pixels) and allows a multitude of options for EQ eye candy. Of course you need to use a full screen arc image for the fast picking bg to cover up the original bg that's also used for the EQ. confused_face(1).gif

Just thought I'd share. Anyone can do it for their theme if they want. Just open my HUD theme when I publish it to see how it's done.

More obvious example pic, not what I'm using in the theme.

You can put any graphic for the spaces in between the sliders for a scale that doesn't repeat as well instead of blending the scale and slider like I did.

Have you tried it with the official FW as well?

There are 2,000 DL's of the Hi-Fidelity/Hi-Vinyl twins and none have had issue. The GUI doesn't interrupt with playback. Just an F.Y.I

Mods look pretty but do not enhance or degrade listening at all.

Try turning X5 off, and then restarting.  If it continues, try reflashing with Fiio's default firmware.  You need to narrow down the cause.  Reboot may fix it.

Maybe you expand your library and discover stuff you didn't know you like till you tried.

all icons in text rotating on -58 opacity images. It will be pretty elegant;)

Very nice! I had a thought like this but in a rotating hologram sort of realm.

Your version of the rotating icons looks elegant indeed!

At the moment i am expanding my music library, at the speed of light, because after getting an e12a, everything sounds even better ^_^

I had tried most of your themes, they certainly look good, but i simply cannot use something so eye candy daily, to put it this way, i like a theme that looks nice, but does not attract the eye too much, i mean it has to look very good, but i do not exactly want to spend time looking at the screen, solar got this the most, but it was a little too simple, not using too much of the screen, and the icons were becoming hard to read from a distance, and not extremely reliable over time.

I want simple, reliable graphics, that use simple or mostly black/white/lightblue/metal/gray colors, and strong contrast between them, as i use the player in the sun sometimes.

I had tried making one, i was not really able to get around it, (not enough free time, i am working at a very very important audio-related project). This and i, myself, am not creative, with these things.

That is the problem, i cannot put my finger on it exactly. Oxygen in gray, as it was the closest, would need.. i do not know, smoother edges, maybe, a little better color mapping, and the main screen is still a little kitschy, the way it looks is great, but i would preffer it containing all of the icons within, if it would be possible.

If i would be a person with talents in designing guis i would make one, but i am not.. This is why i cannot give an advice, how to improove it.

this is my mistake, using a word like elegant,  which gives a very very varied response in different response in people's minds.

How do i put this, asiane invasion themes were the closest to what i wanted, but as i said earlier, solar was close, but used not enough screen, the graphics were a little simple, not very visible, too small, where oxygen was much closer to ideal, the only real problem i thought about it was having two different screens.

Something like making that concept into one knob which rotates, and taking some of the simpler icons from solar, and smoothing, or adding some shade effects to the edges, or adding all menu icons to the knowb, without making to look too packed... i have zero ideea how to improove it.

Compared to the original firmware, i preffered the original status bar icons better, they looked better, only would need more, just a little more contrast, for better reliability in the sun.
