Keep the 439 for now and save up a bit more for a Grado is what I'd do in your shoes.

Yeah I'd save up just a bit, and if you want exact sound the Sony MDR-7506 is hard to beat. They might be a little clinical for you though, coming from consumer headphones. A headphone you can buy now that is surprisingly good is the NXG Pro DJ. They're going for 15 bucks on amazon shipped, but they are the same OEM as the notorious Monoprice 8323 except with velour pads. Quite possibly the best headphone anywhere in that price range, almost a no-brainer.

Superlux HD 681 or its cousin, the HD 681-EVO. Or, maybe the Superlux HD 668.  For less than $40, you will be hard pressed to find better.

You can risk your hard-earned money, and buy Beyerdynamic DT 235. It is something I want to get, but I need a lab mouse to test it for me.

Yes, I am that selfish >:D

Those are some very good sounding headphones at their price range and even somewhat above

IMO you'd have to go to about $100 or so to hear a worthwhile difference
