Shure SRH-440 durability issue?

Hey folks, new member here. Hope some of you can share your thoughts on my predicament.

I recently purchased a pair of Shure SRH440 cans which I really like. But just came across quite a few reviews of it that state that the part where the end of the head band meets the part that holds the cup breaks rather easily. One reviewer actually had his Shures replaced 5 times within the warranty period.

Could it be a case of negligence or is it something that is inevitable? Can this be avoided? Seriously considering selling them and buying something similar (detailed, emphasis on the mids, punchy but not overpowering bass, less than $100 — any suggestion?) but more durable.

Hope long-term SRH440 owners in the forum can chime in

Thanks in advance

Best to ask here. You'll get a straight answer. My guess is it's fine.
