Hi everyone. So my Sennheiser HD 202 II which lasted me 3+ years finally died a couple of weeks ago. In search for a new pair of headphones I scoured these forums and after hours of research decided to go with the Superlux HD 681 Evo. The sound, detachable cable, price, looks...everything seemed perfect. Even though they sound is pretty darn great (esp. for the $20 i paid for it) I didnt do enough research to know how it'd fare in public. Not only do I look like a power ranger (more so with shades), but it also leaks sound like crazy (being semi-open). I wore it on the bus on the other day and attracted a bunch of stares. Since the return window passed pretty fast now I guess I'll keep it for home use. Instead of just skimming through others' posts I decided to make an account to ask my question directly to the great community here.
TL;DR Since I can't use the superlux outside, I need a new pair of headphones OR IEMs for mainly portable use. Price no more than $30 (maybe a bit). Most important factors are sound and durability (otherwise length of warranty). I listen to a lot of genres but predominantly indie, electronic (chillwave/synthpop, nothing hardcore) and classic/alt rock. A bit of bass might be good.
For IEMs I'm looking at Xiaomi piston, senn CX300 II, brainwavz delta, monoprice 8320, JVC HAFX1X, soundmagic e10.
For headphones, JVC HA-S400, Logitech UE 4000.
So which of these should I go for? Feel free to recommend others. This is by no means a restrictive list. Just remember durability and sound within this price range are the biggest factors. Thanks!
