Hi. Im looking to buy new headphones for up to 200$. I like how the 518 sounds in the low and mid range but lacks the highs, treble. Can you show me some headphones that has a nice bass like the 518 and a nice sparkly high? Open or closed, over the ears.

Thank you

ps. I heard the shure's 750dj and they are awful, just way too much bass. So not that much bass.

You're essentially seeking a headphone in the next tier up.  You might be able to get a deal within your budget for the K 550, but you need a good seal with it to hear it at its best.  Things like facial hair or glasses can be a problem securing that seal, at least for some.

If that doesn't work for you, you will probably have to increase your budget or buy used.

Well i think Yamaha pro 500 fits my criteria but I'm afraid of the comfort. I don't wear glasses and i will be using them at home. Also did some research on Soundmagic hp200 but i don't know if i want to give 200$ on chinese headphones which brand i never heard before. Philips Fidelio X1 and Yamaha mt220 look interesting but they are just out of my reach. Maybe Beyerdynamic dt 770 pro 32ohm but they are very old and out of production, i know sound doesn't evolve like other electronics but still i don't know how i would feel about buying such an old model. I also love the sound of shure srh440, what would be an upgrade to those?

Are you really saying that the srh 840 is better than the Yamaha pro 500?

No--I have not heard the Yamaha.  So I cannot offer an opinion about how any can compares with it.
