I'm adjusting the price up to 500$.

A lot of people didn't read the explanation for the original pricetag and I received a storm of PM's with lowball offers.
Not saying the 500 number is set in stone but it's far more likely to get me to sell smily_headphones1.gif

After all, this is just an interest check.

Thanks for you understanding,

Very cool looking phones.  FWIW I'd recommend changing the asking price on the classified itself (not your description) to $500 -- should cut down on the lowball offers; well somewhat at least.

Wow what a cool piece of Grado history.  IIRC the RS1 was introduced around 1995, so that prototype you've got there goes way back.

It wouldn't let me change the price at first. Tried it again, now it works. But again. The $500 number is not set in stone. I'm anxious to hear from anyone, interested in them or not, in what they think is fair value for these phones.

Haha yeah they're quite a nice piece of Grado history. There was a prototype for the Grado Rs-1 that the guys at Grado auctioned for charity (highest bid was around 1700$), I believe that one was timestamped 1994. So yes this one goes way back, probably one of the earliest Grado Reference Series ever made :) So, what do you think it's worth?

In terms of sound quality per kilogram, these are without a doubt the best headphones out there. They're featherweight but still have that full, agressive grado sound.

These are fantastic. Would you be interested in perhaps trading them for a week or so? I have a pair of magnums that I just put up in the for sale section. You could test out my magnums and I could try out your RS-3s. If this doesn't interest you I fully understand

Thanks everyone for participating in the interest check. It looks like I'll have some more time to get everything in order so I will refrain from selling this particular piece.
