V-Moda XS or Sennheiser Momentum Over Ear | EDIT: (Just saw a thread exactly like mine but would...

I have just gotten the V-Moda XS and I feel like the bass is a little too much and like the sound is a bit too congested for me.

I would like to know if you guys would recommend the Sennheiser Momentum (Over Ear) over the V-Moda XS and why.

If not, please tell why you would recommend sticking with the V-Moda XS.

Just for reference, I listen to almost all genres of music but I mostly listen to J-Pop/J-Rock, Rock, Alternative, Rap, Hip-Hop.

Thanks.

PS: Sorry if this thread is out of place. Also, I would also like to know how the Momentums fare against the Audio Technica ATH-M50S. I am a bit of a treble head; just putting it out there.

EDIT: I just realized there was a thread with the exact same question as mine and I am assuming I cannot delete a thread so this is going to stay I guess. BUT I would also like to hear what others have to say based of my music preferences.

For a treble head, you probably wouldn't find any of them satisfying enough, as they are warm sounding or bass-heavy headphones.

Thanks, could you recommend any other headphones within the <$250 price range?

My suggestions would be: AKG K550, AKG K702 or ATH-A900X.

Would you say that these headphones are Audio Technica ATH-M50 "killers"? Also, I forgot to mention that I am looking for a closed back design (I know I'm crazy asking for good treble on closed back headphones that are <$250).

Also, thanks for answering my questions.

Nope, I wouldn't say they are straight out better than the M50 because they have a difference in sonic presentation. As for closed back, you can try the KEF M500 or PSB M4U 1, though they are slightly over $250.

Alright, thanks!! I'll have to give them a listen when I get the chance!

Hello im stuck between these two headphones aswell which ones would you say are better, the Momentums Over Ear or The V Moda XS? Im not an audiophile and I do enjoy bass as I used to come from the V Moda Lp's but out of the two which would you say have overall better sound quality?

In terms of sound quality, I think the XS is better, thought that's just me. The XS has slightly more punchy bass, and slightly aggressive sounding. The momentum sounds slightly more laid back in comparison. The XS is also a lot lighter and easier for portability.

If you didn't like the bass on the XS, you REALLY won't like the Momentum On Ear. It's v-shaped and has one note bass. I have owned the On Ear Momentum and currently have the XS and Momentum Over Ear. If you can budget in the extra money, I would recommend the Full Size Momentum instead. It has better mids, tighter, better behaved bass, and more involving vocals than the XS and while it is not the most comfortable, I can wear much more comfortably than the XS or Momentum On Ear. The Momentum Over Ear really is a spectacular all rounder and sounds great with East Asian pop genres, especially Mandopop and Cantonpop.

Iv'e gotten the chance to try both headphones and I like the Xs more for my music needs (EDM, Dubstep, DNB, Hardstyle ETC). I prefered the XS so now i've narrowed it down to the XS and V Moda Lp2 all I mainly listen to is EDM and hard dance music so theres not alot of vocals involved but out of the two which do you think would perform better?

I would prefer the XS. The LP2 is frankly the weakest offering by V-Moda, way too much bass.
