Can you use 100% denatured alcohol to clean vinyl or would that be too strong?

Best closed headphones I had heard - very flat response, almost no midrange distortion, very easy to drive (good for portable), good soundstage (definately better than K240), good isolation, but...

I'll keep this very short. They are very smooth sounding. Treble toned down so not so good for rock but have a magic about them that makes them better than mark 2. I use them with a '89/'90...

Good advice all 'round, Todd. For those with the patience, I'd recommend the Disc Doctor cleaning system, along with their brushes. People have been known to use it in conjunction with a RCM as well.
Thanks for the tips! I have an old record of my mother when she was a singer on the radio. It was made in the 50s and is pretty thick and heavy compaired to the records I used to buy as a kid.

Danger! Is there a chance that this might be an old 78 (shellac) record? If so, then you really don't want to use alcohol on this, as it will dissolve! That's bad. Don't use denatured alcohol either, because it has stuff added to it that isn't alcohol, won't evaporate, and will come out of solution when you add water. At least that's my experience.
