The Hardest hitting Headphones are.. ( "The EXTREME BASS Club") - Page 272

Got a really good deal on a pair of M100's from someone on here. After spending a week with them I have to say that I wish they had 'fuller' bass. Even after EQing a fair bit and using the bass boost on an e12 I can't help but feel unsatisfied. Maybe I should have just got the SZ's instead (probably will next) but I was hoping to achieve a more well rounded sound sig!

As an aside, If you want something without lyrics that has copious amounts of deep bass I highly recommend checking out stuff put out on the Chord Marauders label.

Here's a couple of favorites:

Congi - Leaps & Bounds

Congi - Somnium

Better low volume listening sig. Nice bass.

40mm drivers and iffy QC make them worth the cheap price if the QC is good. Not basshead cans.

The M100 are  bass beasts to audiophiles and good bass cans for bassheads but they won't satisfy the bass cravings of a basshead for long.

The build quality is really good but they are limited.

I guess I must not be a true basshead by your standards. (ha)

With my custom EQ presets in Rockbox (in which the bass increments and volume precuts go up to 24 dB on), coupled with the bass boost switch on the Cayin C5 (boosting the sub-bass by an additional 5.5 dB), the M-100s have all the "full bass" I need!

Here's one example of how I do things:

When listening to Kelly Clarkson's "Mr. Know It All" song, I use the "Optimized 4" preset (in my set of "adjusted" EQ presets for the Cayin C5, along with the extra bass boost on the Cayin C5 being added on top of this). This "Optimized 4" preset (by itself) looks like this:

eq precut: 18.5 dB

32 Hz: +18.5 dB

64 Hz: +2.6 dB

125 Hz: -5.0 dB

250 Hz: -4.0 dB

500 Hz: -1.8 dB

1000 Hz: +0 dB

2000 Hz: +0 dB

4000 Hz: +0 dB

8000 Hz: +0 dB

16000 Hz: +0 dB

Great sound, great balance, great combination with the M-100s. I can't imagine how this song could sound any better.  :smile_phones:

I will bow out and let you speak as you clearly have a lot more time put into the M100

I found this app for android with 10 and 20band equalizer. Any body who knows what they are doing want to test the app? Its called jetaudio.
I've been using the Jetaudio app for quite some time with the bass boost plugins. Fantastic, absolutely fantastic with the paid plugins and the full version of the app.

Would this be better than Poweramp?  Do you have to root the phone?

Can you tell me how to set up the eq for the 10 band eq part for max bass? and no the phone needs no rooting. its amazing so many presets and other things i do not know what are supposed to be. it also has 20 band eq... cant wait to get the full version of the app.

No root access needed, just get the extra plugins for a couple of dollars and that's about it. Definitely more tweak able than poweramp.

What about Sony MDR-Z7 ? Does it provide better or worse Bass quality than Sony XB-1000 ?

IDK?

That's 100% subjective.

The XB1000 use mylar and are bass beasts while the Z7 uses LCP and aluminum and the bass decay is very fast compared to the 1000. For Hip Hop EDM it would be the xb1000 IMO.

Z7 focused on keeping good bass and good mids and has a lot of owners. I know 3 members who love bass and mids and highs and they sold their Z7. I know more that 3 that sold their Sz's so....:o

Every set has it's + and -.  Depends on what you want and need

well i do not know, but the bass on the shure 846 is the best, I did the blue mod of the filter, and boy I am back in love with this iem. And I bought 2 new filters ( blue and black ) just to keep them for the future this alone now tells you how much i love my shure. The only one haunting me now is the roxanne and if I will sell my shure it is to buy the roxanne, and i never heard the roxanne and I will have to buy it without auditioning it and if that happens I hope I will not regret selling the shure

I simply can not stop listening to the shure 846 to the point i stopped listening to my audeze, but it needs a good setup for it to shine, and the digizoid did that and more with the fiio x3
