Who the **** wants cages sitting on their ears? That took like 10 minutes to get on my nerves and the fact that the bass impact is on my ear only and not 1/4 of my head like it should be

Look at the second panel from the front...just behind the **** pads.
That cover is obviously facing 2:30 instead of 6:00 to match the bass tubes.

Who the **** does all that work for a nice display for the media and leaves it just short of complete?
JV mutha ****** C does.
I'm a fanboy.
They are a bassheads fave company. The SZ and 77 for the budget minded pack hammer punches when tuned right. But...they blow my mind. That picture really is symbolic of the cans.

The ton of work to build these and then throw **** pads on them...man...I dunno wtf to say??

The Japanese gov practiced nerve gas effects on an unknowing bunch of folks at JVC final approval meeting by piping it through the climate control system and just before they were over come and the experiment terminated somebody o.k'd this pad.

Coulda happened??

Sounds more plausible than ......the truth...they had a group mind ****.

Mate - do you just have the one pair of SZ2000's?

Because if you have and they get discontinued at some point and JVC don't come up with anything similar again, and something happens to your pair - confused_face_2.gif

I know how much you love these cans which is awesome, as its rare for someone to find their perfect, or as near perfect headcan that fits their requirements and more - a second back up pair may be good insurance for you - I mean can you imagine not having these cans on a daily basis!?

I think there's a post by a member on the SZ2000 appreciation thread where guys posted photo of his SZ2000 with snapped headband and he reported they were completely broke.

Just sayin bro - U never know wink.gif

Yeah... And you pulled the trigger on something that expensive? You did try them first... Right? Yes? No?

I say CB should buy the sz1k and compare bass impact and sound to the sz2k? That okay with you CB? I mean, it would be nice to know if there is a plausible alternative to the sz2k for 150$ cheaper... And if it sounds any different, if it hits harder than the 77's for only 50$ more, etc. Sound alright? I mean, I'm not pressuring anyone to do it, its just that nobody on the internet even seems to have bothered with the sz1k's yet... And, also on amazon, a Japanese seller is selling a used pair of sz1k's for 2,000$? O.o that must be typo.

The difference in price between the SZ1000 and the SZ2000 is $95 USD.

Sorry, but I've no desire for the SZ1000's as I've already the SZ2000's.

Whereas you have neither so are by far the perfect candidate to invest into a pair of SZ1000's and provide impressions here - just sell those darned AKG's you're always belting on about to part fund the JVC's and get yourself a little part time job suitable for you to raise any balance required - k? biggrin.gifwink.gif

Are you suggesting that the SZ1000 has been overlooked?

Best gent to answer that is HBB himself as he has possibly the best access to audition virtually all and any headcan known to man by the looks of his pics posted of these huge headphone stores - which look amazing - head-fi heaven - I've heard rumour that some head-fiers have gone missing in such stores for upto 6 months before being found behind the JVC display..... biggrin.gif

Have you ordered your SZ1000's yet! wink.gif

argh. Well, I'd like to keep the akg's... And I wanted someone with an sz2k to compare so we know the differences between them. Sorry if I overstepped my boundaries in asking. I'm getting a job anyways... Probably at a bar as a busboy. Maybe I'll just say screw it and get both? 7.50$/hour, and 20-30 hours a week? I can do it. And the difference between sz1k and sz2k is the sz1k doesn't have a brass chamber, and it uses non-carbon nanotube diaphragms. Otherwise its the same setup as sz2k in the subwoofer system... Don't know if the magnets are the same, but they are the same size. Being found behind the JVC display? Lol. Hawaii said he hasn't tried the sz1k yet, and he doesn't know anyone who has. :-\

Because of this thread, and countless letdowns by other supposed 'bass cannon' cans, I just purchased SZ2000s. I have gone through AH D1100s, HD 25-1 ii, RP-HTF600s, ATH-M50, HAM55X, RP-DH1200s and none of these were 'cannons'. The D1100s were the only ones with bass quantity, but they are cheap plastic pieces of **** and the rest of the freq range sounded like crap. I really liked the HD25-1 ii's but there wasn't enough sub bass for me.

Hopefully the SZ2000s are the answer to my bass prayers! Couldn't find a domestic seller so I'll be waiting until July for them to arrive. STOKED.

HaHa - you were a little cheeky in presuming I would just at the drop of a hat buy some cans to satisfy your comparison curiosity, but you apologised like a gentleman and it was no biggie anyway - we all gud in the hud young basshead smily_headphones1.gif

Good info you provide there with comparison of build components between the SZ1000/2000 cool.gif

I found this YouTube channel that does headphone testing, and the bass on the Beats Pro is very discernible with consequence to mids and highs recessed quite a bit eek.gif

Don't mean I love my Detox's any less though wink.gif

I had the 55's until the headband connector broke when I opened them up. They hit pretty well for the 40$ I got them for. Post impressions if you want once you receive the sz2k. smily_headphones1.gif

I think you will be pleasantly surprised, just remember that without EQing the bass these cans can seem tame, but with bass EQ added, these cans come into their own.

To really feel a wall of jaw vibrating bass from my SZ2000's I use Fiio E17 amp/DAC and push the bass EQ to max (setting No.10) and if you play a bass bomb track like below, you will feel the full force of what these cans are capable of cool.gifbiggrin.gif

Here's the first video playing through my SZ2000's using EQ - keep a check on how the two pieces of paper are moved by the strength of bass.

Same paper test using same track and EQ settings, only this time on vibe Black Death Bass cans - the difference between these two cans strength of bass is pretty clear cut...
