It's called equalizer by smart android apps then run the standard music app. I have not even paid for the bass boost yet that will make it insane almost unbearable I assume.

It can adjust or mimic anything (haven't tried that yet,I thin there is an eq library or something). You can adjust the "Q" of the slopes. It is really impressive.  It is used by the guy in the vid to balance/reduce bass but I use it to find the best point for a track and raise it.

It is impressive in it's ability to shake my cans. They shake the driver while my cowon shakes everything. This app pinpoints the earthquake you desire and makes you worry just a tad about your drivers. The Cowon and most others will distort and back you down but this "extended dynamics" thing and ability to be specific to the smallest detail allows the drivers to go crazy and that is good and bad. For pin point adjustment on an i device this is by far the best i have tried and I have tried most all of them.

I like this little app very much. With my e12 in the middle this is the shiiiit

WTF... that is the schiit. Android app developers better step up their game. This is the first time ever saying " i want a iphone". Not only for this but for all the other electronics and gadgets that support ios

Yeah bro lol I was about to get a iPad just for that equalizer. Then I tried 5 equalizers until I found this one an it took the bass cannon levels it wasn't getting to. An I only have the free version right now so it gets better. Your right the cowon will distort well before this equalizer

thats a great app i wish it support flac files

The iPhone will (supposedly) support HD audio files soon, so that will be nice, especially for purchasers of the 128GB version of the iPhone 6.  I like using the Neutron Media Player for the iPhone as well, as the EQ, surround and individual frequency settings/options are at the top of the iPhone application food chain.

Hey I was looking at getting my first pair of expensive headphones, which one you recommend? I have 550ish dollar budget. I was looking at the JVC DX700 or the Ultrasone Pro 900s. I was also looking at the Shure SRH 1540s, but the bass isn't amazing on those right?

The 1540 are tilted toward studio response so this being the extreme bass thread i wouldn't rec em'

Pro 900?

moving right along...

You'd be better off getting a set of Q40, buying new pads and cable and buying a portable amp too. (That would still be less than 500 and you won't miss out on that wonderful part of the spectrum called sub-bass:D)

The 3 cans you listed are very different so I'm not sure if this is the right thread?

500 is a odd number. climb a couple hundred higher or drop a couple hundred and the pool is bigger but 500 is where sale prices are or intial launches of overprices cans hover until the market pulls them into their spot.

The Yamaha Pro 500 are a great set of all around cans with more punch than the Q40 but priced higher. Monster Npulse over ear are quite good too!!

Alright, thanks! About saving up a bit more, what do you think of the Fostex TH600? Oh and I really liked the Npulse, but the clamping force made me return them :/

Oh and on a side note the reason I mentioned the Shure and Ultrasones are because they are available at my local store, so if I returned them it would be a breeze :3

Oh ****...then go for it since no opinion will ever be as good as your own opinion.

I think the Fostex th600 are fine headphones that will pound and still give you a overall pleasing music listening experience....and they can pound when pushed...did I say they can pound already?

Before tested and videod with a sub bass heavy track these were said by some to be slightly lacking in sub-bass

er....um.....no.:D

Man I wish those were cheaper, they look so beast! But anyways, I guess since I can return them instantly I will try the Ultrasones, then if I do end up getting rid of them I will try to save for the Fostex option. Thanks for all your help biggrin.gif

Just curious, what do you like/hate about the 900s? Some people seem to like them, then the rest hate them lol.
