Wait a minute.....for a second there I thought you said 60mm drivers, HaHaaaaa.......whaaa?

"Taken from the ancient Roman and Greek word for owl, Strix means the keenest hearing and sharpest eyesight. Strix means feeling your environment so that you detect and react to the slightest movement. Strix means survival on the very edge of instinct. Strix is in your blood, as it is in ours.
Strix Pro is powered by the 60mm neodymium-magnet drivers giving you the most punchiest and accurate sound fidelity. No worries about annoying mechanical keyboard sound to be heard by your teammates, the ENC (environmental noise cancellation) technology intelligently filters out over 90% noises. Equipped with Strix Pro, become a predator natural enemy to all your opponents.

If you've not felt the power of 60mm neodymium-magnet drivers then listen with Strix Pro- experience unrivalled punch and audio immersion which is utterly convincing. When gaming you will hear every gunshot and know enemies are nearby from their footsteps alone. Then, switch to audio for roomy stadium rock, crisp and clear spoken-word listening or movie soundtracks that sound so real."

It's got owl eyes on the outer ear cups!  I've always wanted owl eyes on a headphone - like, who hasn't?

Now the dream is reality!

Why aren't other manufacturers putting eyes on their earcups, it may be the future? :p

This has the potential makings of a cannon class new breed of basshead headphone - 60mm drivers! :basshead: :L3000:

Looking forward to reading your first impressions on these s5300, especially their bass response, I wonder how much headroom there is for bass EQ?

When are these bad boys arriving with you s5300?

I'll be keeping an eye out on these... (see what I did there ......ok, I'll get my coat.... )

Quite sadly - They aren't release yet. I'm sure as hell buying them as soon as they come out though. I must say I don't exactly savvy the owl eyes.. in fact I find it a little bit creepy. I don't think it's something I'm going to be walking around with, mainly use it for my gaming setup.

The headband does look incredibly comfortable and I assume with her review of it they may make the glass scratch proof. Definitely going to be nice. My only fear is that the 'control box' is actually an amp as seen in some gaming headsets, leaving no more room for amping. Though in the past, they do usually call it a pre amp box and this was just referred to as the mic station.

TL;DR  BUYIN DIS ****

Huh... I don't even. Asus hasn't even mentioned an ETA on any of their new lineup yet. Was assuming it would at least be a few months. Any idea how credible this LambdaTek is? I don't know if I can get these shipped to the US, I'll look into it.

Only 90£ ? Considering the versality they seem to have and those 60mm cans, that's a suprising price

Hell, JVC HA-SZ1000's are only $140, It's the shipping that kills

true since I got them for that price but of course had to pay almost 50% more due to VAT (import taxes and stuff like that) but I'm guessing the asus ones will be out on the US sooner or later unlike the SZ's which seem to be japan only atm :\

Not yet, and I can't get them shipped to the U.S. as of now. Maybe if somebody in the UK wants to pull the trigger. They have another less fancy 60mm that has been out for a little bit now, I just learned of it - The 'Asus Cerebus'. It retails for around 50 pounds ( or whatever that UK junk it called) but $110 in the U.S. I'm not going to buy it, but it would be nice to see what it puts out.

The SZ1000 are available directly from JVC UK's site, but at an inflated price of £229.99/$385.82!

If they are being sold in other regions for $140 then the UK price equivalent going off today's currency exchange rate would be £83.46, if retailed at same price, which unfortunately, they aren't - clearly over here in the UK, we are getting stiffed big time mad.gif

The Cerberus cost £45.99 GBP from Amazon UK and as you quite rightly said - come with 60mm drivers eek.gif

What's interesting, looking through various gaming headphones on Amazon, is that there's quite a lot of various brands that all come with 50mm drivers, some with 53mm, but quite surprising of the amount that come with these bigger sized drivers from standard 40mm type.

yeah, here the sz1k is 140-170$...

And gaming headsets usually pack the bigger drivers cus they give it a bigger soundstage.
