Seattle Head-Fi - Portable Club
Oct 29, 2014 at 12:31 AM Post #61 of 112
Just a quick question. Does anyone know of any good headfi stores in Seattle? I'll be downtown on an upcoming trip...

I have yet to find a great headfi store here in Seattle, hence the dependence on local headfi meets. Definitive (grado) and magnolia Hifi (senn/ber) have some headphones, but not much. Vancouver BC is a two hour drive and has the headphone bar which is highly regarded, but I have yet to make it there. Wish I had better news.

Announcement - CustomArt CIEM US Tour - Harmony 8 Pro, M1, M2, and Pro330v2

In my continual search for a CIEM to beat my NT6pro, I am hosting another CIEM tour, this time the CustomArt lineup including the Harmony 8 Pro, M1, M2, and Pro330v2. The Harmony 8 Pro has receive rave reviews from those that have heard the NT6pro to compare it so I take it as a serious challenger. I already have the M1, M2, and Pro330v2 and am shocked at the CustomArt performance even at the lower end. The M1 - even with only a single BA - is now my favorite value custom at $225 beating challengers with a clarity and natural tone that is unique. If anyone is interested, please PM me and I will put you on a list to PM you with a link to sign up before the signup thread goes live. I am working to get the thread up by early this week.

My goal is to kick this tour off in the Seattle area so that we can bring it to the December Seattle meet for others to hear.

I didn't find out about this thread until just today! I live in the Seattle/Everett area and keep wanting to find ways to audition stuff before buying, but it's just so hard to do! I don't have much to offer and there's nothing so far on the current list I'd like to audition yet, but that mood just changes anytime it pleases haha

I would like to be added to the Portable Club list as well.  I am fairly new to audiophile level music and equipment, but am enjoying learning how to enjoy music more..  I have a small collection of equipment, and am in the Eastside based in Duvall.

You may be new to audiophile level stuff, but you sure do have some equipment!

Who is going to make it to the Seattle Head-Fi meet at Bottlehead HQ on the 25th? I'm not going to be able to make it due to family obligations, but it would be a good time for the portable group to get together and compare and contrast.

BTW, I am on the Cayin N6 DAP tour and wil be getting to spend a week with it sometime in the next 60 days. I hadn't heard much about it, but balanced 901 owners are liking it better which says a lot. Maybe we can organize a get together when I have it so we can all get a chance to hear it with our assortment of gear. Let me know if anyone is interested.

Hi! I live in Seattle as well. What really is this? Still a little confused. As for gear, I have a few, none too notable. Sennheiser Cx300ii, Vsonic VSD3S, and a Sennheiser 449. Iphone 6 and Ipad Mini 2, also an MSI GT60 gaming laptop with SOME Sound Blaster card. I've had a JLab Neon, as did 5 other friends of mine! They sounded alright, I got them on sale for 10 bucks. It was almost CX300ii, but not. But... ALL 6 of our JLab Neon's left side went out. Sooo not too reliable, just putting that out there.
