H E L P ! --- WANTED: XPT100 angled pads ---

Hi guys,

Did someone buy the XPT100 but doesn't use the angled pads? I would like to get some but 29.99$ on the official website is a bit sick when the complete headphones + 2 set of pads + box is for 80 bucks.

Please PM me or let me know if you know a cheaper place to get these.

the only place I've found apart from the nvx website is this: http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_66627_NVX-XRE100A.html 24$, not that much of a diference.

Sorry for de-railing the thread, but how are those headphones? can they reach reasonable levels of bass if properly equalized? Are they as big as they appear to be? How about portability? Maybe you can give me some more info on these

--- EDITED: this first impression review concerns the JVC HA-S680 !!! ---

I am still burnung them in so I will give you more details about the sound once I will have spent more time with them

But even after only two days usaing them, I can still answer to a few of your questions:

1/ can they reach reasonable levels of bass if properly equalized?
Well, these are bassheads headphones so they produce a lot of bass. Out of the box they were very, VERY boomy, but in the same time very dynamic. The less that I can say is that it slaps hard. After a few hours usage it gets much better already so I can keep you updated about what it gives once burned-in. ---> 15 hours of burn in and they are still boomy and the low frequencies sound muffled when the highs are clear which probably explains that these cans are not easy to get used too... Let's give it some more time.

These headphones are extremly reactive to EQ so you can very easily get less bass. The only issue I had is that these headphones are quiet accurate. You wiIl ear a lot of frequencies from the spectrum. Usually when you have a strong bass like this, it takes a toll on other frequencies, but in this case I found the spectrum to be very complete still. This had a strange effect on my brain because I was completely unable to process this and I was always switching from excitement to doubt. I loved them to the bit... then not anymore... then again... then less and so on... So I think that for the general SQ, I will keep my jugement for later

What I can say is:
they are bassheads headphones
they react quiet well to EQ
they have a "complete" representation of the frequencies spectrum (if that means something)

2/ are they as big as they appear to be?
actually I was shocked how small these are, so no problem for portability.

3/ Other infos:
My ears fit completely in the cushion and it feels comfy.BUT...
I have glasses and they just put pressure where they shouldn't. That is why I am looking for cushions, I suppose that for people without glasses they should be just fine.

Hope that helps.

I tried but couldn't find the "start new thread" button, so I thought it might be because I am a newby...

man, your info was amazing, thank you so much. I use glasses too, but I can tolerate very well a big amount of pressure. I hope you get what you need. Good luck!
