Hey everyone. I am looking to invest in some new headphones and am having some trouble deciding. I have an iPod touch, and an iPad Air. I use a pair of Bluetooth for the gym, but would really like a high quality pair for home. I plan on using them for music on both devices (very eclectic mix of everything from hip hop, pop, R&B, classical, county..etc.) and also movies on my iPad . My budget is between $300-$400 and I'm aware I'd need a portable amp to get the best sound. Reviews have made my decision more difficult instead of easier. I want over the ear . I was leaning towards the usual suspects and then came across a review of the Yamaha pro 500's and they also sound like a contender. I was able to listen to a few at best buy a few weeks back and was impressed mostly with a brand I'd not seen online. They were in the special magnolia section and I can't remember the name for the life of me. So what's the popular opinion on what's the best for someone like me? And I'd like to go with a portable amp that's not overtly expensive and focus more of the $ on my head phones.
