Sorry guys, that was a very old project and not something we would ever do again. Just the headphones and maybe some amps later on.

Nein! Nein! Nein! Nein! Das ist verboten!

Make nothing like a Bravo or Project "Pick a Name" ugly little plexiglass covered amp's that look they were cobbled together in someone's basement from a kit. Starved plate mode foolishness where the only "Tube" thing about them is a little piece of LED lit glass that has just enough power to actually conduct...

I hate those amps, can you tell? biggrin.gif

It might be slightly apparent.

I'm waiting on a vintage pioneer sx737 receiver to arrive, also trying out a Stoner Acoustic UD110v2 dac.

Nice!

I have heard great things about the UD110, let us know how it is.

Well after listening to the Brainwavz S5 all week, I pulled out the AG's for a listen this morning. Fired up my favorite Acca Dacca track with the Black Filters in and had to stop mid song, Brian's voice was coming through like forks in my ears...

I switched over to the Silver Filters and all was good again, a little Bassy but not like I had remembered from my time with the AG's.

It's interesting how we adapt to a certain sound and look for it in other devices, at this time I couldn't use the Black Filters if I wanted to as the treble just kills me.

The S5 thread taught me that tips will make quite a difference, I still don't know how that one guy enjoys the Tri-Flange with the S5's as the deep insertion required just feels too weird for me.

When the Champagne Filters arrive I will be completely rewriting my review of the AG's since I don't think I my current evaluation of them is quite up to par.

^That's exactly my experience, which is why I preferred the bassier filters and said that in my review (oh...that's been up for a bit; I forgot to link to it).
