The Acero is beautiful, even the MK1 does very well against the FA-011.

Sorry for the crappy lighting bad camera, this was taken on the Nexus 5.

Always wanted a pair of FA-011's but the shipping would be a killer and their website looks so sketchy to order from.

Yeah, it does a little. They complement the Aceros very well, a very fun headphone.

Is that the FA-003 Titanium in the background? They also look incredible with wooden cups.

Yeah, I saw a pair up for sale once, but it was around $300, apparently it's $250 for the cups alone.

Wood does look the best IMO, the most beautiful headphone I have seen is one of those modded D7000s.

Seems there are some interesting developments in the works. I haven't caught up fully with the reviews but I know my quick impressions of the Alfa Genus will echo some of the sentiments already posted.

Generally I would go to the black filters. With those, I find a natural sound with good clarity and they are easy to listen to. Maybe the odd treble peakiness comes through but I need to do more listening. For the most part, so far I've found little emphasis, which is a good thing. Longer term listening will help me to get a handle how transparent they are.

I have listened to some relaxed jazz with the silver filters and now switched to them for, appropriately enough, Storm (Vanessa-Mae) -- appropriate because there's a thunderstorm here!, and for some pieces they do offer an enjoyable, very different, alternative. Realistically, however, you're not going to be switching filters per track. I do welcome the middle-ground filter though and I applaud RockJaw both for introducing it at all and for making it an addition. The only issue I have had with the filters is that they can unscrew as I'm pushing the tips into my ears.

I need to put more hours on these but so far so good and lots more listening ahead.

I believe, while on the go, where external noise such as car engine, will take away some of the bass presence so the silver filter may be ideal and at home, where the silver filter's bass can be overwhelming, we can switch to black filter but if only the treble does not spikes so badly thought but my friend seem to appreciate the spike a lot. So I guess it's personal preference

The 3 filters should allow majority of consumers to find a sound signature that works for them.

Think that solves the problem of a buyer being dissapointed and can just switch to their preference.

The three filters will make these perfect for any type of listener. I can't wait to listen to them!

The new one should be half black and half silver colour, vertically right down the middle. smily_headphones1.gif
