Looking for new headphones between $200 and $300

Hi,

My previous headphones, the skull candy mixmasters (I know what you are thinking), have broken and now I am looking for something better to replace them.  The music I listen to is a bit of everything but I mainly listen to rock and heavy metal.

Thanks

Might be helpful to know what sources you plug the headphones into?

Check out the Audio Technica ATH-A900X closed headphones.

I usually just use an iPhone or my laptop but I would be wiling to get an amp as long as it isn't too expensive and actually makes a difference.

Does the headphones need to be portable and are going to be used in public?

I would prefer something that is more portable.

I believe Ultrasone has headphones with a fair amount of bass, not sure which model?

Maybe the Ultrasone HFI-780s?

Cheaper option would be Takstar Pro 80 (Gemini HSR-1000) headphones.

Maybe even the JVC HA-S680.
