Just bought my first set of cans - my second dip into being an audiophile

Hi guys,

I lurked these forums for a few days to get an idea of what I wanted to buy for a set of over ear headphones. I bought some brand new Denon D600s for $220 today.

The only set of ear or headphones I ever bought for myself that I really liked were the Ultimate Ears SuperFi 5 Extended Bass IEMs. I bought them for $250 (I think, it might have been $150), and I fell in love with them. They happened to break about two years after I bought them, and when I went to buy a second pair, I saw they were discontinued. :(

I have been looking all over for a set of HiFiMan HE500s, but I just couldn't wait long enough to find them at a price I was willing to wait. Maybe these Denon D600s will convince me to spend the money for the next level set I want.

Let me know if you have any advice for me!

Thanks for reading.

You seem to like bass emphasized cans.  While the HD 500 has excellent bass (extended and present with body), it is presented in a neutral sound signature.
