Need recommendation for in-ears to use with LG G2 phone

Hello everyone !

About 8 months ago i bought the Sunrise Xcape Impressive Edition, I love their sound signature - i'm normally listening to electronic music (House, Dubstep) and Rap/Hip-Hop.

There are few things that i didn't love in these in-ears so i want to replace them with a new pair.

The biggest disadvantage of the Xcape IE is the sound level - they are relatively quiet.

As I mentioned in the title i'm gonna use the in-ears with my LG G2 phone, and i want to buy in-ears that have a mic so i can make calls.

I also need that the wires will be less tangle

My budget is approximately 120 US $.

I will be really happy to get some recommendations.

Thank you !

Alex.

Hi,

In terms of sound quality, and based on the music you've listed, Yamaha EPH-100 are probably hard to beat!

You can read about them here:

Thanks for your recommendations !

I see that both the Yamaha EPH-100 and the Shure se215 don't have a mic, one of the reasons why i want to replace my current earphones is because they don't have a mic.

Thank you !

what about the rha ma750i

I've got myself an LG G2 and I find the phone's stock firmware leaves the max output on the audio jack to be quite low.  If volume is your biggest issue, try what I did and check out firmware modifications on xda-developers.com, there are currently 2 different mods that I know of that should increase the audio output without any ill effects that I could hear.  I'm currently running my etymotics with a 75ohm resistor on it and it gets plenty loud at full volume after the firmware mod.

If I am not mistaken, they are 115db sensitivity, which is pretty high. They should play pretty loud on almost any portable device.

Maybe you need an amp.

Its more an issue with the stock settings on the phone's firmware.  Like I've said, I'm running my etymotics with a resistor on them just fine straight from the phone.  However, in stock form, I couldn't even dream of doing such a thing as the output from the jack is set to impossibly low levels.  How I mitigated is that rather than buying myself an amp and making my phone bigger than necessary, I just looked on the XDA site to see if others were having similar issues and what their solutions were.  Turns out, the stock firmware is VERY conservative with limiting the gain settings on the output.  The solution I resorted to (since I had already flashed to a CM11) was to look into the xml file that controls out output levels on the device and raise the numbers controlling the max output by a few points.  This took all of 2 minutes and a restart to do, after which I could comfortably listen to my etymotics without the resistor at half volume and with the resister with the volume set one or two levels down from max

Of course, if you're iffy about modding firmware files and whatnot, just buy yourself an amp.  The problem appears to be with the phone more than your headphones.

I experimented with raising the gain on the headphone amp on my Note 2 for similar reasons. But 115db IEMs are very efficient to begin with.

How much did you raise the volume on your LG? I turned my Note 2 up by 6db. Not a lot, but it did help with lower sensitivity IEMs.

I brought mine up somewhere around 10db IIRC

Currently i don't want to mess with the phones firmware but i remember that i had the same sound level problem with my previous phone (iPhone 3GS) with the same Xcape earphones.

Anyway the sound level isn't the only problem, as i said i want earphones with a mic so i could easily make phone calls.

thanks for your help !

The rha ma750i partially works on android phones

The mic and call control buttons work but not the volume
