I am new to all this stuff so please forgive me. What kind and size of wire should I get off I'm going to make some audio cables?

For headphones, probably somewhere between 20-26 AWG. Many like stuff like the canare star quad cables for making cheap cables.

This is a good rule of thumb. Keep in mind that the number has an inverse relationship with the actual wire size. So a 20 AWG wire has a larger diameter than 26 AWG.

Another note: you want stranded wire, which will have more flexibility than solid wire (just to make sure that you buy/ask for the right stuff wink.gif ).

Can anyone recommend a good portable amp that won't break the bank I currently have a fiios kunlun, a cmoy with opa2134 and a little bear tube amp which is good but not really portable due to the exposed tube but great sound. I am using vmoda crossfade lp and beyerdynamics custom pro ones. Everything runs OK with vmoda but really haveto crank up amps when using beyers.
