Do Philips Fidelio L2 need an amplifier?

In the Fidelio L2 tread many people stated that L2 does not require amp. It is 16 Ohm easy to drive headphone, no problems driving it from iPods and phones.

Anyway, if you have an opportunity to try them with a separate headphone amplifier, don't miss that chance, only you can tell what your ears perceive. Sometimes it's not only about having enough power: different amps make a headphone sound slightly different (clearer, warmer, you know...) and you could find yourself enjoying your headphones more with a certain amp. This is up to you, and how much money are you ready to spend (or burn) on this hobby!
