I saw this sound card on this small shop for R500 (roughly $45). I own the Sennheiser HD419 and use my Lenovo G500 laptop as my primary audio source with foobar2000. The laptop has the Conaxant onboard audio and not Realtek. My question is, looking at the specs of the product, will it improve my sound quality? Is it better than my onboard sound? Help would be really appreciated. (replace the xx with tt and remove the underscores from www in the link)

No it be a waste of money, if you wont improvement then you gonna have to find a local shop that sells either a Xonar DG/X, Sound blaster Z if you can't then you might be able to find audiotrak Prodigy Cube . At most your best choice is to order online, if your dont have a credit card you can just use paypal to do it instead, that if you trust ordering over the internet. What other stores do you have around your area that sell PC component's.

Thanks for your response, but please tell me what are your reasons for saying it will be a waste of money? Is it the specs? What is it that is lacking about them? Can i get a better sound card for that same price?

The thing is I don't know how the prices is over there in Taiwan, but if you really want a upgrade for your laptop then these two choices the Asus xonar U3 and the Creative X-FI Go. Both of these would be better choices  then that generic no name brand usb that you linked, which would sound just the same or worst then your laptop audio.  You just might have to spend a bit more  for either of the two depending on which stores are in your area, As you might be able to find them open box if your lucky.

You def be able to find it off ebay if you trusted ordering from them and can wait til get to you, As the Asus Xonar U3's are $40 USD ans the X-Fi Go is $17 usb.
