I saw this sound card on this small shop for R500 (roughly $45). I own the Sennheiser HD419 and use my Lenovo G500 laptop as my primary audio source with foobar2000. The laptop has the Conaxant onboard audio and not Realtek. My question is, looking at the specs of the product, will it improve my sound quality? Is it better than my onboard sound? Help would be really appreciated.

Bump. Anybody got any response for my questions? I need to make a decision ASAP because in a few day I will be leaving the town where they sell the card

Why not spend your money on an Asus Xonar DG instead? I dont think its very expensive, and its sq is darn good. It will be a huge difference compared to onboard sound

If it has to be usb, I seen the Asus Xonar U3 cheap as well as the X-Fi Go for 20-35 on ebay incase you need something that usb. But other wise the DG/X is a good choice. You also can find the Creative Sound blaster Z cheap on ebay as well which is another good choice.

Thanks guys but the problem with your suggestions is that I don't own a credit card, and these sound cards are not available in South Africa (where i live). This card seems to be my only choice because I cant spend any much more on my student budget. Looking at the specs, I was wondering if you guys think it is worth buying or i'd be better off sticking to my Conaxant onboard sound card?
